Holidays in the Lechtal time-out villages loopholes for the soul

Experience nature

68 people live in Gramais, Austria’s smallest community. There are only a few more in Hinterhornbach, Pfafflar and Kaisers, those tranquil small communities in Lechtal where time simply seems to have stood still.

Lifts, pistes and hotels are searched for in vain; infrastructurally one is satisfied here with the most necessary; cars and buses only run occasionally, in the winter months less often than in summer. Nevertheless, the four small villages belong to the modern types of longing of our society. Precisely because the Lechtal time-out villages were able to retain their original Tyrolean mountain village character.

Time for me, time for you, time for us
Hinterhornbach is located at the foot of the Hochvogel, at the very back of the Hornbach valley. Just like the mountain villages of Gramais, Kaisers and Pfafflar, it lies off the main Lechtal route and promises peaceful and relaxed days in the mountains. Plenty of fresh air and lush mountain meadows, dense forests and alpine flair characterize a stay in the cosy villages. Here it is time to pause and enjoy!

If you arrive alone, you can find yourself here again and recharge your batteries. In winter, panoramic tours through the snow-covered mountains, either on touring skis, snowshoes or on foot. In summer it is the lush green tones of the alpine meadows that delight the eye and make you want to hike. Get up with the first rays of the sun, walk to the power places of nature and recharge your batteries!
In the cozy little villages you can let yourself go, because nature sets the pace here.

In pairs you hike on lonely paths through the surrounding alpine pastures and huts or discover culinary delicacies of the local cuisine. The meat and sausage products processed in the restaurants come directly from the region and also the cheese and dairy products come from the local farms and alpine dairies. Here we cook with everything nature has to offer. The fresh and juicy herbs of the Tyrolean herb witches, for example, refine both the autumnal game and the summer grill cuisine, the winterly Törgelen as well as every soothing mountain breakfast.

Local spring water is of particular importance, not only for the preparation of food. You can enjoy the Lechtal water fresh from the tap throughout the valley.

For this reason, the tributaries and native streams of the Lech are of particular importance. The Otterbach in Gramais, the Hornbach in Hinterhornbach, the Streimbach in Pfafflar and the Kaiserbach in Kaisers are the lifelines of the last savage and make him what he has been for centuries: the source of strength and life for an entire region.
Families can discover the Wonder Nature Park Tiroler Lech in different ways. Spend relaxing days with young and old in cosy mountain villages. Tobogganing, snowshoeing and touring in winter, swimming, hiking, geo-cashing, grilling and exploring numerous nature trails in summer – here it never gets boring.
Recreation in miniature format

If you are looking for peace and quiet and are tired of chaos, if you want to open your eyes to the treasures of nature again, if you have had enough of the big things and are looking for the small things, then you are exactly right in the Lechtal time-out villages.
