The City Fountain Place: Reichenstrasse

Attractions

After the neo-Gothic city fountain was demolished in 1965 in order to free the way for the increasing traffic, which at that time still ran through Reichenstrasse, the sculptor Alois Vogler from Füssen created a new fountain.
He chose St. Magnus, the missionary of the Allgäu, who conquered the dragon, the symbol of evil, with the sign of the cross. The Magnus figure was cast in bronze and placed on a 2.40 m high column of Epprecht
stone granite. On Magnus Day, September 6, 1968, the fountain was officially inaugurated.
